A Journey of Impactful Initiatives
Early Advocacy
Championing Vocational Education (2019)
Moore’s journey began with his influential role as a political commentator and advocate for progressive policies. In 2019, he played a pivotal role in supporting Femi Gbajabiamila’s candidacy for Speaker of the House of Representatives during the 9th National Assembly. Moore passionately promoted Gbajabiamila’s legislative agenda, particularly his sponsorship of the Vocational Schools Bill, which sought to institutionalize technical education nationwide. Through public engagements and stakeholder mobilization, Moore amplified the importance of vocational training, laying the groundwork for his future contributions to LASTVEB. His efforts helped elevate the national discourse on skills-based education, inspiring a new generation to embrace technical careers.
Leading ANSSO
Mobilizing Youth for National Progress (2022)
In 2022, Moore took on a transformative leadership role as the head of the Asiwaju National Students Support Organization (ANSSO), a platform dedicated to mobilizing Nigerian students for political and social causes. Under his stewardship, ANSSO became a powerful force in rallying student support for Bola Tinubu’s presidential candidacy ahead of the 2023 elections. Moore organized vibrant campaigns, rallies, and media initiatives that galvanized thousands of students across Nigeria, showcasing his ability to inspire and unite young people. His strategic coordination and charismatic leadership strengthened ANSSO’s influence, fostering a sense of purpose among youths and reinforcing their role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
This initiative solidified Moore’s reputation as a connector and advocate for youth-driven progress.
Transforming Vocational Education with LASTVEB (2024–Present)
Since his appointment as SSA to the Lagos State Governor on LASTVEB, Moore has been at the forefront of revolutionizing technical and vocational education in Lagos. Working under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s visionary leadership, he has contributed to a series of groundbreaking initiatives that align with LASTVEB’s mandate to equip students with industry-relevant skills. His extensive network and strategic acumen have been instrumental in securing partnerships and resources, ensuring that LASTVEB’s programs deliver tangible results. Key initiatives under his influence include:
- Skill-Up Program: Moore has supported the expansion of the Skill-Up Program, a collaboration with MCS Consulting and City and Guilds, which provides hands-on technical training to prepare students for immediate industry roles. This initiative emphasizes practical competencies, enabling graduates to excel in fields like engineering, construction, and technology.
- Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs): Leveraging his networking prowess, Moore has facilitated partnerships with global and local industry leaders to enhance LASTVEB’s training capabilities. Notable collaborations include the Samsung Engineering Academy, which trains students in electronics, and the Lagos-Skipper Engineering Academy, focused on power and electrical skills. These partnerships have equipped LASTVEB’s five technical colleges (Agidingbi, Ikotun, Ado-Soba, Ikorodu, and Odomola, Epe) with cutting-edge resources and expertise.
- SIWES Orientation Program: Moore has played a key role in strengthening the Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) for LASTVEB students. In 2021, LASTVEB oriented 3,205 Tech II students for industry placements, and Moore’s ongoing efforts ensure that students are well-prepared to bridge classroom learning with real-world applications, fostering employability and innovation.
- Digital Learning Platform: Recognizing the importance of technology in education, Moore has championed the development of LASTVEB’s Learning Management Platform, which enhances access to technical training through digital tools. This initiative positions Lagos as a leader in modern vocational education.
- Artisan Empowerment Programme Support: Moore has supported programs like the One Precious Life (OPL) Academy’s Artisan Empowerment Programme, which trains artisans in soft skills and professional productivity, connecting them to job opportunities and promoting economic self-sufficiency.
Building a Legacy of Excellence
Moore’s contributions have not only transformed LASTVEB’s operations but also inspired a cultural shift in how technical education is perceived in Lagos. By promoting gender-inclusive training, expanding student enrollment, and advocating for the formalization of informal sector skills, he is creating a sustainable ecosystem for youth empowerment. His vision for LASTVEB includes plans to establish new technical colleges in Ibeju-Lekki and Badagry, further expanding access to quality education.
